Who's the hardest person to shop for on your holiday list?
Like many people it's my father. There are only so many golf related products out there and the days of socks and ties are well behind him.
I have four brothers so every year we have to make sure we don't each get the same thing for him so there's something of a scramble in December to find the ultimate and "original" present. This year I've had my eye on something I believe he will like and that the boys will simply not have thought of.
I am spartacus.

What do you do to get rid of a cold or flu?

I will moan about it to everyone and anyone who will listen, then moan some more to whatever poor misfortunate is within earshot. That generally helps to take the emphasis off how awful and wretched I am feeling.
Comfort food and old Harryhausen films help too.
When that fails and the moaning bores even me I will take to walking around my flat with tissues stuck up my nose - by this point my hands are very tired from the constant blowing and my nose is raw from the cheap tissues I've been forced to use 'cos I've run out of the lovely aloe vera ones.
I like the fresh air too, find that helps and there is something gratifying about walking around wearing fourteen layers. All the people you pass give you an emphathetic glance "they know" how you feel and "share" your discomfort.
If all of the above fails then I'll take to my bed and pretend I've died.
